1. The closer the danger target is to your own ship, the farther you have to turn.
2. The greater the length of the Relative Motion vector, the farther you have to turn.
3. The farther the danger target is from your bow, the farther you have to turn.
4. It is better to initially turn too far as it is easy to determine when to return to your original course to achieve the desired CPA.
5. After changing course or speed, wait 3-4 minutes for the echo trail to tell you if the change was too much or too little.
